BEFORE THE BID
If you think my item’s description is lacking essential information just feel free to ask for them or even more photos.
If needed, I’d be pleased to share hints about skills required, tools, useful references and anything I can do to help your decision’s process.
To ask questions use the box below please, but must register with “delcampe” first.
“Delcampe” works like other auction sites and will assist during your subscription process and afterwards, for all your buyer /seller activities.
The support team and the members’ forum promptly answer your questions solving doubts about getting started at “Delcampe”, its policy and technical tricks.
At first glance you won’t see many of my feedbacks but more than that imo count all those great relationships I had (and still have) with people from all over the (modelling) world.
If you just want to, feel free to make a lower offer proposal on a lot of auctions, or a trade for something you have and want to get rid of: anything having a sense will be taken in due and respectful consideration, and the ensuing deal treated in respect of “delcampe" ‘s rules.
PAYMENT
Payment is possible through “electronic wallets” like:
“Postepay” in Euros, 1E “flat” fee (Italy only)
“Moneybookers” in Euros
“Paypal” in US$, ask first
For the latest I’ll submit (through message board or personal email address) the currency conversion (reference: “xe.com”)
I’d better avoid (for both of us!) personal checks or cash in the Post.
For the first you have to add 10,50E commissions for my Bank to clear, plus some % for currency conversion (if not in Euros)
For the second, risk is always there (post employees have trained fingers!) but if you’re absolutely compelled to, I’ll dare to suggest the best methods learnt from modellers worldwide.
(For instance in those cases your wife/fiancée has put the complete embargo on your collection, gaining absolute control of all bank/cc transactions!! ;-))) )
Needless to say I don’t assume responsibility, any kind, for whatever might happen to the envelope.
(or, maybe worse, if the “enemy” discovers the trick!!)
Within Euro area I always suggest Bank transfer, usually very cheap (3E for any amount, check with your Bank)
Transfers in foreign currencies are comparable to a personal check, commission-wise (just safer, because nothing travels in the Post)
WU is expensive for small amounts, so I’d not recommend it (but I have nothing against personally).
COD is usually possible for many Countries though I’d restrict it to Europe and only after a trustful relationship has been established.
This because is really annoying collecting parcels refused back and paying twice their delivery! (I’m sure you understand..)
Postage costs are just a few Euros more than standard pre-paid shipping, exact calculations to be performed in each case.
SHIPMENT
I ship worldwide usually as Small Packet, registered airmail (weight limit: 2Kg)
This is the fastest and cheapest method here, average delay time: 10-17 days. (Europe: 7-10 days)
These datas come from previous experiences , and cannot be guaranteed at all (no Post Office/employee can), but it works (!)
Parcels heavier than 2Kg are usually better split in two.
For really large kit(s) or parcels more than 4Kg anyway, I suggest “common parcel”, surface, for saving’s sake.
Of course the buyer decides what suits best his needs and pays additional services (e.g. air, insurance) accordingly.
Fees as per Italian Post, latest variations might not appear in the auction text but will be checked and relevant information forwarded to the buyer, NO extra costs added randomly (!).
They are stepwise for following weights: 100g - 250g - 350g - 1Kg - 2Kg - 3Kg -5Kg - 10Kg
Above 2Kg they fall in the “parcel category” having a “surface option” as well.
I’ll take care to have your parcel fall in the cheaper category, considering an adequate and safe packaging anyway.
Homeland delivery is possible as registered letter for “flat” objects or small kits only (size limit: 5cm thick)
For all the rest, the next closest step is either a “common parcel” or “J+3” trackable one. (upper limit: 20Kg)
AFTER THE AUCTION
Should you change your mind, or for some reason (no touching excuses needed! ) aren’t willing to go ahead, simply drop me a line IMMEDIATELY.
The item will be put on sale again and no negative feedback released (you know, our lives won’t be upset!)
Shipping usually happens within one week after receiving payment, you’ll receive a mail confirmation anyway. Were I out of town because of my job you’ll receive a note about the possible delay.
I consider all sales as final.
Sorry, modelling items are “sensitive” and checking a returned parcel is a sticky task leading to no satisfaction for both parties.
Some fanciful people tend to steal some parts they need, or cast their copies, photocopy decals or instructions, scan printed matters for their own advantage and more than we can even imagine.
So I’d happily forward all relevant information BEFORE the bid to any serious buyer, returning the goods can be accepted in very special cases only (postage not refundable)
For a positively ending transaction a feedback is welcome, I leave mine after payment has been received and item shipped, that is at closing my end of the transaction(s).
At worst, please just drop an email confirming the arrival, so your case (and shipping receipts) will be “filed”.
Should any problem arise, please try a communication and the friendly way first, maybe we can fix it together with a joint effort.
THANKS FOR LOOKING!
